About the event

Our Brand New Satellite Events

Thursday 12 November, 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Kick off Proptech Forum 2026 with four deep-dive Satellite Events, each hosted at a different venue across Sydney. Choose one session to attend for a focused, small-group deep dive into a single hot topic — from partnering with industry leaders to hands-on data and AI workshops.

Satellite Event 1: JLL

Underneath Barangaroo: Tech, Sustainability and 77,000m² of Basement

International Towers Sydney, Barangaroo runs on so much more than you can see from street level. This tour takes members underground into the 77,000m² of basement that keeps the precinct running: the tech and sustainability systems behind one of Australia's most sustainable developments. Come and see the scale of tech it takes to run a precinct sustainably, and hear what is involved in operating it day-to-day.

Who is this for?

This tour would interest people who want to see how sustainability technology actually runs at precinct scale, not just on paper.

Speaker: Mark Hedges — Head of Shared Services, JLL.

Time: 2:00 - 4:00 pm

Location: Tower 3, South Lobby, 300 Barangaroo Avenue, Barangaroo, NSW 2000

This is a ticketed Satellite Event.

Capacity: Limited to 15 people

Satellite Event 2: VALOCITY

Beyond the Blueprint: Let’s Build Something

A hands-on Proptech data and API lab workshop, powered by Valocity.

Got a proptech idea? Bring your laptop and Valocity will bring the data. This hands-on workshop at Valocity's Sydney office gives you access to Australian property datasets and APIs, so you can test ideas and see what you could build next. You can explore valuations, comparables, market activity and mapping in Atlas, Valocity's browser-based platform, or experiment with selected APIs to start a prototype or integration, working solo or in a small group. The afternoon wraps up with an optional show-and-tell, prizes for standout concepts, and drinks and networking.

Who is this for?

Founders, developers and product innovators who want to test an idea against real property data. Technical and non-technical attendees are welcome.

Speakers:

  • Tim Jenner – Chief Product Officer, Valocity

  • Hannah Nimot – GM, Strategic Alliances, Valocity

  • Joel Tan – Data Product Manager, Valocity

Time: 2:00 – 4:00 pm

Location: Valocity Sydney office: Level 7, 45-47 York St

Capacity: Limited to 30 people

This is a ticketed Satellite Event.

What is needed: Bring your laptop.

Satellite Event 3: DOMAIN

Fast to Build, Hard to Believe.

AI can now take a design from idea to code in days. The harder question to answer is what to build. Domain's product design team starts by sharing how they rebuilt a live property app with AI, and how their designers shifted from producing screens to deciding what to build with real users. The rest of the session is hands-on.

You'll play a quick pricing game, run a pre-mortem on your own product, and pair up to find where your users are asked to trust numbers they can't check. Bring one screen from your product and leave with a better version.

Who is this for?

Founders, vibe coders, designers and product managers, especially those whose products ask users to act on a number, score or AI output.

Speakers:

  • David Meier-Murren – Director, Product Design, Domain

  • Dave Pride – Product Designer, Domain

Time: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Location: Stone & Chalk, Level 1, 477 Pitt Street, Haymarket NSW 2000

This is a ticketed Satellite Event.

What is needed: Bring one screen from your product. A printed screenshot works best. No product yet? Bring a screen from an app you rely on.

Capacity: Limited to 30 people

Satellite Event 4: REA GROUP

Are you ready for the new market opportunities?

Securing your piece of the energy efficiency  economy

Workshop hosted by REA Group

Residential energy efficiency is a potential $80 billion market, and the new Home Energy Ratings will change how Australians sell, buy, rent, value and upgrade their homes. In this workshop, REA Group shows how the ratings will look for buyers, homeowners and Proptechs, and how a shared data standard gives the whole ecosystem a common base to build on. You will also hear early about new tools coming from REA, government, valuers and the finance sector.

Who is this for?

CRMs, data businesses, assessors, Proptech founders, lenders, upgrade providers and agents who want to build energy efficiency features into an existing product, or are looking for their next idea.

Speakers:

  • Erik Tveitnes - API Lead, REA Group

  • Cecille Weldon - Founder, Energy Efficiency Features Standard

Time: 2:00 - 4:00 pm

Location: REA Group, Level 17, 309 Kent Street, Sydney NSW 2000

This is a ticketed satellite event.
