New regulations mean real estate agents will soon be part of a national Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML) regime. This legally obliges the industry to identify and report suspicious financial activities when working with vendors and buyers.

While full compliance does not start until 1 July 2026, agents and conveyancers are required to enrol with AUSTRAC from 31 March.

With requirements for new policies, processes, and compliance officers, it sounds—and feels—like a huge additional burden with terrifying consequences if you get it wrong. But how much work is really going to be involved?

Australian proptechs have been working hard to create software and solutions that work together with existing platforms and workflows to take the guesswork out of being compliant with the new laws. Join our expert panellists to hear first-hand how to be Tranche 2 ready without the stress.

What we will cover:

  • Understanding the different verifications required.

  • How to design a compliant process that fits within current workflows.

  • What to look for in an AML provider.

  • Tips for good decision-making to keep you compliant.

The Panel:

  • Steve Grubmier (MRI Software): A seasoned leader with 20+ years of experience helping agencies transition from manual, risk-prone processes to secure, tech-driven workflows.

  • Ches Rafferty (easyAML): An identity verification and regulatory compliance expert focused on solving immediate organisational pain points.

  • David Howell (Forms Live): Managing Director of Dynamic Methods, and the Forms Live platforms which are creating compliant AML workflows to slot into existing real estate admin processes.

  • Alexander Antal (InfoTrack): An expert in cyber-secure transactions and strategic growth, helping agencies streamline processes and protect property journeys.

  • Hosted by: AJ Chand (RESO): A licensed real estate agent, technologist, and Proptech Australia Board Director.

Whether you are looking for insights on how to get your office organised or want to stress-test your current approach, this panel promises a practical overview of how to safeguard your business in 2026.
