Proptech Australia member Evitat is to hold an industry thought-leadership event in Melbourne to encourage climate-resilient outcomes in the real estate sector.
Evitat asks, “Can better choices in design and materials help us build without locking in climate risk? And where can architects, designers and builders begin to shift the playbook?”
It’s calling the event, “Brace for Impact – AI, Materials and Collaborative Mindsets for Climate-Ready Buildings.” It will be held on August 7 in Melbourne.
It’s part of the “Shifted by Evitat” series that brings together forward-thinking practitioners for an afternoon of bold conversations, practical tools and future-ready strategies to drive low-carbon, healthy and climate-resilient outcomes.
Evitat is an online platform for architects, designers, and builders to access sustainability-focused information for residential projects. Features include environmentally vetted products, cloud-based material boards for collaboration, automated sustainability and emissions reporting, and climate action resources.
It says the event is not about showcasing technology for its own sake. Instead, the afternoon and evening sessions will unpack what’s possible when verified data, better design tools and new ways of thinking come together.
Among Evitat’s speaker will be –
Caroline Pidock, President of AIA NSW, and co-founder of Australian Architects Declare.
Cathy Inglis AM, Group CEO Think Brick, Concrete Masonry Association and Roofing Tile Association Australia
Paul Adams, Principal, MODUS Architects, and Managing Director of Assemble Systems.
Dr Fiona Gray, Regenerative Architect, Biophilic Design & Healthy Buildings Consultant, and Researcher.
Darren Minto, Client Relationship Manager, Crafted Hardwoods.
Jeremy Spencer, Founding Director of Sustainable Builders Alliance, and Director of Positive Footprints.
Topics include:
Design, Build or Disaster? Rethinking the housing-carbon conundrum.
How AI is reshaping project delivery.
Renovation, reuse and resilience in residential construction.
When: August 7, 1pm-7pm
Where: The “Hip v Hype Better Building Exchange”, 427 Albert Street, Brunswick, Victoria.
