Futurist, Google lead speaker line-up for 2025 Proptech Forum

Updated: Oct 1, 2025

Keynote speakers have been announced for Proptech Australia’s annual Proptech Forum, to be held in Melbourne on November 14, sponsored by Domain.

The star-studded lineup is led by futurist, Tim Duggan the founder of Junkee Media and an award-winning tech author, with the AI Lead for Google Cloud, Michael Scutt.

The theme for this year’s forum, to be hosted at the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV),  is “Navigating an AI Enabled Future”.

Consider this question – Are we entering an AI arms race?

It’s one of the issues that will be explored by Tim Duggan in his fascinating presentation, “The Human Cost of AI”. He’ll provide insight into the moral, ethical and legal questions of AI at work and in our lives.

Google’s Mike Scutt will take the audience through Google’s work in the field of AI, outlining where the technology is going and how you should respond to ensure you retain technology leadership and relevance.

Other keynote speakers include the Proptech Leader of the Year, Scott Bateman, the chief executive of Kolmeo. He will be in conversation with Milk Chocolate’s Hedy Ivanovski, discussing how AI is already impacting the real estate business model.

The Proptech Forum will also feature a number of popular “fireside chats”.

These include a discussion on the quality of AI and the dangers of issues such as “context rot” and “AI hallucination”. That panel will feature Rebecca Moroney, of Wayscape; Volker Roth, of Cloudflare; and Leann Jones, of Nimo Industries. JLL’s Chris Havill will host.

The hot topic of the future of APIs & Integrations also comes under the spotlight.

Speakers representing three key ecosystems explain how their systems work and the challenges we must conquer to create an easier, fairer and AI-enabled future. Hosted by Proptech Australia’s John Minns, the panel will feature Steve Grubmier of MRI Software, Erik Tveitnes, of REA; and Emily Hawkes, of ReapIT.

The full program of speakers and their sessions will be released shortly by Proptech Australia.
