New Proptech Australia member ScaleApp – a business dedicated to helping first-home buyers – has launched with a fanfare of publicity and cutting-edge social media reels.
ScaleApp is a personalised budgeting and property portfolio simulator designed to help young Australians plan, model and optimise their journey to property ownership and beyond.
Built for a generation facing the dual pressures of rising living costs and housing affordability, ScaleApp claims to be the first tool to combine live property data, personal budgeting, scenario forecasting and dynamic portfolio analysis on a single platform.
ScaleApp founder and CEO Nick Melrose says its property simulator has been designed to feel more like editing a video than building a property strategy. He says it “brings a new level of interaction to property planning and financial empowerment”.
ScaleApp is designed to allow users to:
Understand their financial position, set property goals and visualise their roadmap to ownership.
Search and compare properties with personalised, real-time analysis.
Simulate strategy over time, evaluate different scenarios and mitigate risks.
Track portfolio performance, including live value, tax implications and return metrics.
Connect with brokers and professionals via ScaleConnect, a B2B tool that enables proactive, data-driven guidance.
It offers a tiered, freemium model and has adopted viral marketing to grow both consumer and partner channels.
It launched on July 14 with 3,200 users on a waitlist and claims an additional 68,000+ users in its current partnership pool. It has raised $1.5 million, including investment from Second Century Ventures’ incubator fund, REACH ANZ.
It has already won a number of accolades. It has been named a finalist in the Proptech of the Year awards, being nominated for PropTech to Watch and for Buying & Ownership Solutions in the Start-Up category. It recently won the People’s Choice Award at the REACH PropTech Pitch Battle (AREC 2025).
