A.I. and Software Platforms on the Rise as Proptechs Celebrate Innovations

Updated: 4 days ago

Sydney (July 4, 2025): Proptech Australia announced the winners of its coveted 2025 Proptech of the Year awards at the Fullerton Hotel, Sydney, last night.

The awards attracted 167 entries across 13 functional categories – the largest number in its five-year history.

The biggest winner of the night was Build Buddy, which took out three awards, including Start-Up of the Year and “Proptech To Watch”.

The AI-enabled planning and property development platform, Archistar, won two awards and retained its crown as Scale-Up of the Year.

The awards covered a variety of emerging proptech solutions in areas such as AI, affordable housing, construction, off-the-plan, energy efficiency and asset management. There were also awards for more traditional operational areas, such as sales and marketing, property management, and administration and efficiency.

In the major awards, the Proptech of the Year winners were:

  • Start-Up Proptech of the Year – Build Buddy

  • Scale Up Proptech of the Year – Archistar.

  • Established Proptech of the Year – Cotality (formerly CoreLogic).

Residential Proptech of the Year went to the Kiwi-founded Tapi, which offers an AI-powered property maintenance platform.

Brand new entrant Avenue Bank, which says it’s the first and only Australian bank specialising in bank guarantees within 24 hours, won Commercial Proptech of the Year.

The CEO of Kolmeo, Scott Bateman, was named Proptech Leader of the Year among a star-studded field of finalists.

The inaugural Team of the Year was won by Nimo Industries, a cloud-native lending platform for lenders, brokers and customers using embedded automation, AI and valuation innovation.

A total of 35 awards were presented and more than 330 guests attended the gala dinner to celebrate achievements in the Proptech Sector.

The founder and President of Proptech Australia, Kylie Davis, said the awards demonstrated the growing relevance and importance of the proptech sector to the Australian and New Zealand economies.

“Over the past five years, we have witnessed incredible improvements in property technology. Our members are solving a wider array of problems than ever before. And we’re seeing companies get to market at increasing speeds,” Kylie said.

“Proptech is now tackling issues as diverse as housing supply, affordability, ownership and energy efficiency.”

Trust of proptech in the wider economy was growing – a core mission of Proptech Australia, said Kylie.  “We’ve had more entries and more sponsors than ever before. Proptech companies are becoming more sophisticated with their products and in their marketing, and together they’re more ambitious and determined to do a great job for their clients and the economies of Australia and New Zealand.

Kylie also congratulated the finalists and the winners.  “The quality of the entries continues to improve every year,” she said. “Judges had the greatest difficulty picking winners. This demonstrates how Proptech is providing increasingly innovative and robust solutions for domestic and international markets.”
